Round 3 racing is crunch time. A best of three races means the winner goes into the quarter finals and the loser is eliminated. The first car up for Round 3 was NRG. Coming through the knockout racing in Round 2 meant they were drawn against a top qualifier from the time trials yesterday. Unfortunately in relatively low light they were not quite at the same pace and bowed out of the competition. While disappointed the team can be very satisfied with producing a very competitive car in their first attempt.
Bullet 2 continued its impressive form with a comfortable win in Round 3.
Unfortunately for our other Year 7 team they were drawn to face Bullet 1 in Round 3. By this stage the Year 10 team had the new and improved version of Bullet really firing but full credit to the Year 7 team for turning out such a competitive car.
The real surprise packet of Day 2 was Ilios. After struggling yesterday to a place in the top 8 is just incredible and Sam, Alex and John can be very proud of their efforts. With only two weeks to put a car together they worked tirelessly after school and on weekends to come up with a great car. A place in the quarter finals awaits.
